Dan Burns

Chief Executive Officer

After six years as the company’s chief operating officer, Dan Burns was named chief executive officer of EXOS in November 2009. He oversees the management and growth of EXOS and its family of businesses.

Burns leads the company's strategic planning process, directs the business's operations, and develops and manages key relationships with business partners. Since 2009, the company has grown significantly in size and impact and today EXOS employs more than 500 people across its divisions servicing elite athletes, military operators, and leading corporations and their employees.

Prior to joining EXOS, Burns worked in the sports industry as the manager of business operations for the WNBA, where he served as a business advisor to the league president. His areas of responsibility included financial analysis, organizational growth, and player contract management. He also worked closely with WNBA teams to improve their operating performance.

Burns previously spent two years as an associate consultant at the worldwide strategy consulting firm of Bain & Company, where his work focused on the media and consumer products industries.

Burns earned his master of business administration from Harvard Business School, where he served as co-president of the Business of Sports Club. He received his bachelor's degree and graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College. Burns resides in Scottsdale, Ariz. with his wife and two children.
