Joe Kita
Contributing Writer
Joe Kita is a writer, editor, motivational speaker and teacher. Besides being a contributing editor for Men's Health and Women's Health magazines, he is the author of five books. These include: Another Shot, in which he relived his 20 biggest life regrets, and Accidental Courage, in which he faced his 12 greatest fears.
Kita has been a journalist for 25 years, specializing in confronting life's challenges head-on and relating the lessons he learns. A sampling of the things he did for his books include: trying out for his high-school basketball team at age 40, tracking down his college crush (with the blessing of his wife), challenging 90-year-old Jack LaLanne to a $10,000 fitness showdown (and getting beat), letting an aging knife-thrower use him as a human target and spending time in solitary confinement. Kita's exploits have landed him on Oprah, Montel, Good Morning America, The Early Show on CBS, 20/20, CNN, NPR and many other national programs. Kita has taught journalism at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and also teaches memoir writing aboard Crystal Cruise ships. He currently lives and works in southeastern Pennsylvania. His website is JosephKita.com.
