Q&A: Should I Train Hamstrings?

Dave Cruz

Q: If I do squats, lunges, reverse lunges, single leg squats, and eccentric squats, would I have to do hamstring work? I may do Romanian deadlifts and physioball leg curls for hamstrings. Is this okay? – Jai, Las Vegas, NV

A: All of the exercises you're doing are considered lower body pushing movements, so definitely include the Romanian deadlift and physioball leg curl to help balance out your routine. The backs of the legs are most often neglected, so if anything, you should include more work for your hamstrings and glutes.
