How Core Performance Employees Get Fit and Stay Healthy

While Athletes' Performance supports athletes, teams, and military personnel and Core Performance works to improve wellness for everyday people, employers, and employees, both teams work toward the common goal of improving lives and optimizing performance—including their own.

“For more than a decade, we’ve been the leading source of innovation and results for companies, athletes, and teams alike," says Dan Burns, CEO of Athletes' Performance and Core Performance. "As we continue to pioneer the field of proactive health, we're proud to roll out an expanded wellness solution that fits our company’s high performance culture, provides tools and solutions to our team members to help ensure their health and sustainability, and, ultimately, helps to create a healthier and more productive workplace."

To help employees improve their own health, Athletes' Performance and Core Performance have launched the Proactive Sustainability program.

"Like many of our clients, we sought out a scalable, differentiated solution rooted in our prescriptive solutions and a commitment to results," says Burns. "We believe the Proactive Sustainability program will serve as a meaningful vehicle to drive engagement and outcomes for the health of our team members while furthering our competitive advantage as a company.”

Below are five ways the Proactive Sustainability program aims to improve employee health and fitness.

1. "I WILL" Cards

Each employee fills out an "I WILL" card. Here, they write down a healthy or personal goal (e.g. I WILL run my first 5K this year) they want to achieve. Their "I WILL" card is then placed in a picture frame provided by the company.

2. Recovery Day

In addition to the yearly personal time off, each employee is allotted one recovery day. This is an additional paid day off for employee to use at any time during the calendar year. Employees are encouraged to use this day to refresh and recharge by sleeping in, getting a massage, spending time with family, or doing whatever helps them relax.

 3. Fitness Event Reimbursement

To encourage employees to participate in healthy activities, each employee is eligible for a $50 reimbursement toward a fitness-based activity of their choice. This can include everything from a 5K registration fee or a yoga class to a boot camp participation fee.

4. Training and Nutrition Seminars

In addition to performance specialists and nutritionists, Core Performance also employs personnel in technology, accounting, sales, operations, and other departments. To ensure that all employees have a foundational understanding of health and fitness, Core Performance offers online and in-person seminars throughout the year for employees.

5. Recovery Starter Kits

Each employee receives a recovery starter kit. It includes a foam roll from our partners at SKLZ and a list of recovery movements to help employees ease aches and pains.
