5 Pumpkin Seed Recipes to Satisfy Your Cravings

When you're carving your Halloween pumpkin, don't toss out the seeds. Instead, use the flavorful recipes below to substitute toasted pumpkin seeds for some of your favorite candies. (All recipes below serve six and should be cooked at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes).

If you like Atomic FireBalls® and other spicy treats...

Toast 2 cups of pumpkin seeds with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (100 calories, 1.5 g fat, 2 g carbs, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein).

If you like Tootsie Rolls® and other chocolatey treats...

Toast 2 cups of pumpkin seeds with 1/3 cup of dark chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of dried cherries (140 calories, 10 g fat, 10 g carbs, 2 g fiber, 5 g protein).

If you like Sugar Babies® or other salty treats...

Toast 2 cups of pumpkin seeds with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika, and 1 tablespoon of sea salt (100 calories, 8 g fat, 2 g carbs, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein).

If you like SweeTARTS® and other sweet treats...

Toast 2 cups of pumpkin seeds with 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice, and 2 tablespoons of egg whites (150 calories, 8 g fat, 17 g carbs, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein).

If you like Starbursts® and other fruity treats...

Toast 2 cups of pumpkin seeds with 1/3 cup of apple juice and 1/2 cup of dried apricots (140 calories, 8 g fat, 13 g carbs, 2 g fiber, 5 g protein).
