Q & A: How can I maintain strength while my wrist is broken?

Q -I've fractured my left wrist and am out of two-hand commission for the next five weeks. I'd like to have a program that will allow me to maintain some kind of strength and conditioning. - Larry
A - You can still use any of the Core Performance programs, but just avoid anything that involves gripping or holding. Make it your goal to significantly improve your pillar strength as well as total body mobility, stability and flexibility during this 5-week period. That means doing more dynamic stretching and moves that stabilize your core. It also means taking the time to foam roll and recover. In other words, hone in on the movement prep, pillar strength, prehab and regeneration components of your training plan.
