Study: A Stressful Job Increases Heart Attack Risk for Women

A study published in the journal PLoS ONE found that a stressful job can increase a woman’s risk of a heart attack [HuffingtonPost.com].

Over a 10 year period, researchers analyzed data from 22,000 women. They found that women with stressful jobs are 70 percent more likely to suffer from a heart attack and 40 percent more likely to experience other cardiovascular issues, such as a stroke, compared to workers with less stressful jobs.
