Disgruntled workers are taking their stress out on their office equipment, and, sometimes, their co-workers, according to a survey by PruHealth and the Vitality Wellness Programme [HuffingtonPost.com].

Researchers surveyed British workers and found that:

  • 48% admit to regularly have work-related meltdowns at the office.
  • 46% are likely to become angry when they feel pressure at work.
  • 25% admit to physically taking out stress by slamming computers and telephones, throwing something, or banging their fists on their desks.
  • 3% say they’ve been physically aggressive toward a colleague, and 1 in 13 have witnessed a physical assault between co-workers.
