Base Rotations to Acceleration

Starting Position

  • Standing in athletic base position

Procedure

  • Jump slightly off ground and rotate hips to right
  • Hit the ground and immediately rotate to left
  • Repeat as quickly as possible for prescribed amount of time and then sprint forward 10 yards

Coaching Keys

  • Swivel hips only and keep shoulders and torso stationary
  • Use arms to counterbalance hips
  • Hips to right, arms to left

You Should Feel It

  • Working your hips, knees and ankles and challenging your coordination
