Crunch - Cable

Starting Position

  • Kneeling position, with glutes on your heels in front of a cable column, and holding a rope handle attached to a cable machine behind your head

Procedure

  • Keeping your buttocks on your heels slowly let the cable pulley lift your torso away from the ground, extending your spine
  • Return to the start position by contracting your abdominals
  • Repeat for prescribed number of repetitions

Coaching Keys

  • Do not let the hips move off the heels
  • Exhale upon the crunching motion
  • Inhale and extend your back as torso comes up
