Drop Lateral Slides Cutting (Zig Zag)

Starting Position

  • Athletic base position

Procedure

  • Open left foot and hip back at a 45 degree angle
  • Shuffle diagonally backwards 2 -3 yards
  • Plant the left foot and immediately open right foot and hip back at a 45 degree angle and shuffle diagonally backwards
  • Repeat for 3 -4 changes of direction on each side, creating a zig zag pattern

Coaching Keys

  • Keep feet apart
  • Shuffle diagonally with back flat and chest up
  • Keep weight on balls of feet
  • Keep hips low during changes of direction
