Eccentric Calf Raise

Starting Position

  • Standing

Procedure

  • Begin with a calf raise, using both feet
  • Shift weight to left foot and then slowly lower down
  • Repeat movement, shifting weight to right food instead
  • Repeat for prescribed number of repetitions

Coaching Keys

  • Maintain neutral foot position during the calf raise
  • Use the edge of a counter or other support if necessary

You Should Feel It

  • Challenging the stability in your lower leg
