Lateral Flexion (Off Bench)

Starting Position

  • Sidelying on a bench with your hips at one end, scissor your feet and hook them under the opposite end of the bench, allowing your torso to hang off

Procedure

  • Holding hands behind head with fingers clasped, side bend torso above the bench
  • Slowly lower side, bending down to the starting position
  • Repeat for prescribed number of repetitions
  • Repeat on the other side

Coaching Keys

  • Keep stomach pulled up and in
  • Keep neck relaxed
  • Fire muscles on the top side of your torso

You Should Feel It

  • Working the lateral part of your trunk
