Medicine Ball - Overhead Slam

Starting Position

  • Standing in an athletic position, holding medicine ball at waist level

Procedure

  • Bring the ball straight up in front of you and ultimately behind your head
  • Pulling from your stomach, throw the ball into the ground in front of you
  • Repeat for prescribed number of repetitions

Coaching Keys

  • Pull from your stomach to initiate the throw
  • Your feet may leave the ground during the throw
  • Keep your hips tall during the throw

  • Working your abdominals and arms
