Medicine Ball - Perpendicular Throw - Split Stance

Starting Position

  • Start in a split squat position, with outside foot forward and shoulders perpendicular to wall, 2-3 feet away

Procedure

  • Rotate shoulders and trunk over front leg and throw ball into wall
  • Catch ball and return to start position
  • Repeat for desired number of repetitions
  • Switch legs, with inside leg forward and repeat, this time turning AWAY from front leg
  • Face the opposite direction and repeat on both legs

Coaching Keys

  • Maintain perfect posture with stomach tight
  • Keep back knee off ground
  • Throw ball with trunk, not only arms
  • Catch ball with hands behind ball
