Russian Twist - Bench with Weight

Starting Position

  • Straddling a bench, squeezing it with the inside of your thighs
  • Leaning back to 45 degrees, holding a weight directly in front of you with arms straight

Procedure

  • Keeping hips still, rotate shoulders and trunk to the right
  • Return to start position and repeat to other side
  • Repeat for prescribed number of repetitions

Coaching Keys

  • Keep hips facing straight ahead
  • Sit tall, maintaining good pillar position during movement
  • Keep stomach tight
