Straight Leg Skip - Soccer

Starting Position

  • Standing

Procedure

  • Lift straight leg in front of body to opposite hand
  • Pull heel forcefully back down to ground underneath hip generating double foot contact as opposite leg lifts
  • Alternate and repeat moving forward

Coaching Keys

  • Maintain perfect posture
  • Keep toes pulled up to shins
  • Pull heel down to ground, with hip going into full extension
  • Initiate movement from glutes

You Should Feel It

  • Stretching and strengthening hamstrings
