  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup lite mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp chives, minced
  • 2 tbsp red bell peppers, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp five spice powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 4 dashes hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp unsalted butter


  1. Mix 1 pound of crab meat with one egg, 1/2 cup of panko bread crumbs, 1/4 cup lite mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of minced chives, and 1 tablespoon of minced red bell peppers.
  2. Blend ingredients.
  3. Season with 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of celery seed, 1/4 teaspoon of five spice powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper, and 4 dashes of hot sauce.
  4. Form the mixture into six patties.
  5. In a sauce pan, heat 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and 2 teaspoons of unsalted butter.
  6. Cook patties in pan until golden brown (about 4 minutes per side).
