Ingredients

  • 1 lb green onions
  • 3/4 lb ginger root
  • 1/4 lb garlic
  • 1 gallon soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups sherry
  • 4 oz canola oil
  • 1 lb brown sugar
  • 1 lb white sugar

Preparation

  1. Chop 1 pound of green onions, 3/4 pound of ginger root, and 1/4 pound of fresh garlic in a food processor.
  2. Place ingredients in a large pot, then add 1 gallon of soy sauce, 1 1/2 cups of sherry, 4 ounces of canola oil, 1 pound of brown sugar, and 1 pound of white sugar.
  3. Simmer for 2 hours.
  4. Strain and transfer to a container to cool.
  5. Marinade can be used three times before discarding.
